IT Support Technician

IT - New York - Brooklyn, NY - Full Time

AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider to the broadcast, production, and new media industries. We offer sales, finance, training, rental, and tech services to our professional customer base with offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

We are currently seeking to add a self-motivated IT Support Technician to our New York team who can provide best-in-class user and systems support. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, hardworking individual to participate in our exciting and fast-paced company.  

This key position encompasses the following responsibilities: 

  • Create and onboard new users (Active Directory, Okta, O365)
  • Manage asset database and maintain up-to-date hardware inventory
  • Enroll, configure, and deploy both MacOS and Windows systems
  • Provide support for staff members located at multiple branch offices via the IT support queue
  • Troubleshoot issues with user endpoints, desktop applications, servers, mobile phones, and printers
  • Troubleshoot network and hardware alerts generated by software monitoring tools
  • Deploy office phones and administer VoIP profiles
  • Assist with IT, integration department, and office operations with project implementations, hardware installations, migrations, etc.
  • Maintain and update knowledgebase/wiki documentation
  • Inform and uphold office-wide security policies and etiquette
  • Strive to keep up with industry trends and keep learning and growing in your role  

Successful applicants should possess the following attributes: 

  • 2+ years experience in IT Support roles with increasing responsibility
  • Experience managing users, groups, and computers via Active Directory
  • Strong knowledge of both MacOS and Windows 10 systems administration
  • Experience configuring and utilizing Endpoint Management tools (Mosyle, Intuit)
  • Working knowledge of network protocols such as ARP, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP
  • Experience troubleshooting connectivity issues, cabling, switch ports, VLANs
  • Wireless Networking Solutions (Unifi/UBNT)
  • Knowledge of Virtualization and Hypervisor solutions (VMWare ESXi, XCP-NG, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
  • Experience with Cloud hosting solutions such as AWS EC2 & Azure
  • Experience with MDM solutions (like Mosyle, Jampf) is a plus

Desirable Certifications:

  • Network+
  • CCNA

Physical Effort:

  • Sitting and standing work at computer, requiring frequent use of computer monitors for documentation and reporting
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Moving supplies and equipment requiring moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 lbs.)
  • Reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching

This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt position. The work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM, with occasional overtime, as needed. The annual salary range is 52K - 57K, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
