AV Integration Technician

AbelCine is a leading digital cinema and HD technology supplier to the motion picture, broadcast and new media industries. We offer sales, training, rental, repair and finance services to the professional production community with offices in NY, CHI and LA. We are currently seeking an experienced AV Integration Technician to join our busy Integration department. 

As a support member of the Integration team, the AV Installation Technician will assist our Integration Engineers with providing equipment specification for prospective projects, monitor calibration, installations, commissioning, and maintenance of audio-visual, broadcast, and postproduction systems. This is an excellent department support opportunity for a dynamic, hardworking individual to participate in our exciting and fast-paced industry.  

 This position would encompass the following key responsibilities:  

• Provide remote support and respond to incoming tickets for StyleShoots clients
• Perform installation, disassembly, and in-person maintenance of StyleShoots machines for clients
• Install basic software and hardware packages on Mac or Windows
• Perform installations of A/V equipment at client sites
• Perform installations of lighting equipment at client sites pull and terminate audio, video, and data cables with precision
• Upkeep department assembly area and departmental tool kits
• Assist engineers with field support, and troubleshooting
• Assist with fabrication of racks, flypacks, and other systems
• Provide monitor calibration for customers as necessary
• Assist integration sales and engineering with product research and specification as needed
• Assist with creation of project documentation
• Create wiring and cable diagrams, equipment, and rack elevations as necessary
• Assist with control room operation of theater for in-house events

Requirements for the successful applicant: 

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant work experience 
• 1+ years of experience with audio/video/networking equipment and wiring in order to perform system specification and installation 
• Strong analytic, problem-solving solving, and troubleshooting skills, as they pertain to A/V & associated systems 
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment 
• Must be neat, organized and be able to meet deadlines 
• Clean driver's license and comfortable driving a van 
• Ability to lift 75 pounds  
• Ability to perform work on a ladder 

The following experience is a plus: 

• General knowledge of network and IT infrastructure 
• General knowledge of broadcast standards as it pertains to monitor calibrations. Experience with Portrait Displays CalMan software.  
• Basic wire termination including soldering, crimping, punch-down etc. 
• Familiarity and experience with studio lighting 
• General knowledge and experience with design software such as Vectorworks, Autocad, or Solidworks 
• OSHA Certification
• Aerial Lift Certification

Physical Effort:

• Prolonged standing, walking for the length of the work shift
• Sitting and standing work at a computer, requiring frequent use of computer monitors 
• Frequently move supplies and equipment requiring moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push/pull up to 75 lbs.)
• Climbing and performing work on a ladder
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching
• Occasionally remove or replace supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. from locations at or above shoulder level

This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt position. The work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM, with occasional overtime, as needed. The annual salary range is 55K - 60K, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
